Be the DIFFERENCE

We’re looking for bright, fun, and caring young adults who are looking to make an impact by guiding diverse age groups of children who have experienced a specific trauma in their young lives. Our programs are for children facing:

  • Loss of a parent from Military Service

  • Parental incarceration

  • Family violence and Abuse

  • Children with bleeding disorders

We also host camps throughout the summer season that celebrate different backgrounds,
school retreats, day camps, and more.

Benefits of being a Lead Camp Counselor:

  • As a lead camp counselor you will be supervising one to two cabin assistants and a diverse group of children varying in age in decision-making, behavior management, and living ethics - all necessary for leadership skills for today.

  • Develop critical everyday career skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and contribution.

  • Our campers are looking for positive role models that can guide them in finding hope and building resilience.

  • Turning Rivers works with many non-profits and corporations throughout the summer which can possibly provide opportunities for future internships or job opportunities.

  • Turning Rivers will provide training and certifications in the following: American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, AED, Trauma-Informed Care, and Belay/Rock Climbing.

  • A weekly salary, room and board will be provided. Midway through the summer camp counselors will be assigned a week off.
